The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)
The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme is a flagship Programme from the Government of India, and undertaken by the Ministry of Education. The Programme is aimed at enhancing the employability of students by equipping technically qualified youth with practical knowledge and skills required in their respective field(s) of work.
Assessment & Certificate of Proficiency (COP) :
Frequency of Assessment : The progress of skill development shall be monitored through skill assessment to be conducted four times in a year as mentioned below
- Entry level [At the time of Joining of training period]
- At the end of 1st quarter
- At the end of 2nd quarter
- At the end of 3rd quarter
- At the completion of the training period
Every Graduate & Technician apprentice, who completes his/her apprenticeship training to the satisfaction of the concerned Regional Board shall be granted a “certificate of proficiency” by that Board on behalf of Central Govt.
Stipend Payment to Apprentice :
Organization shall pay a monthly minimum prescribed stipend to the apprentices as per the qualifications stipulated in the apprenticeship curriculum during the period of apprenticeship training as per Apprenticeship Rule 2019. Organization can pay the stipend amount more than the minimum prescribed rates of stipend.
